Brumbies prop Guy Shepherdson has been banned for two weeks by the SANZAR judiciary after being found guilty of striking during the match against the Bulls in Canberra on Friday night.

The AAP reports thast Shepherdson faced judicial officer Campbell Thomson in Canberra on Saturday morning to answer a striking charge under Law 10.4(a), the hearing following a 27th-minute incident involving the prop and a Bulls forward in which the Brumbies frontrower’s knee made contact with his opponent’s head.

Shepherdson received a yellow card at the time, after a touch judge’s report to referee Chris Pollock, and he was later cited by citing commissioner Scott Nowland.

Thomson said in handing down his finding that the striking was “reckless” but the offence was at the lower end of the scale on which the entry-point penalty is three weeks.

Thomson reduced Shepherdson’s suspension to two weeks after taking into account the prop’s previously unblemished record in 64 games for the Brumbies and 18 matches for Australia,

Shepherdson is ineligible to play until May 3
