Barnes cleared to face Sharks

The Waratahs have announced their team to take on the Sharks this weekend with only one change to the team that beat the Lions so comprehensively last weekend. Sitaleki Timani comes in at lock to partner Dean Mumm.

Reports earlier in the week had Berrick Barnes ruled out with concussion, but this turned out incorrect as he was just a confused as to which year he was in and which team he was playing for, and woke up knowledgeable the next day. He will take the flyhalf jersey again after his great performance last week.

Another player who the Sharks have to keep an eye on is fullback Kurtley Beale, who occasionally pops up in the first receiver role, especially on attack, and will make life difficult all evening.

The Waratahs have a tricky tour of South Africa with the Sharks this Saturday and then up to Pretoria to face the Bulls next weekend.

Waratahs:

Kurtley Beale, Lachie Turner, Ryan Cross, Tom Carter, Sosene Anesi, Berrick Barnes, Luke Burgess, Ben Mowen, Chris Alcock, Dave Dennis, Sitaleki Timani, Dean Mumm (c]), Sekope Kepu, Tatafu Polota-Nau, Benn Robinson.

Reserves: John Ulugia, Al Baxter, Pat O’Connor, Hugh Perrett, Brendan McKibbin, Daniel Halangahu, Atieli Pakalani.
