Playoff contenders struggle with injuries

With the Super Rugby season extended by a few games, and the teams now reaching the point of unknown in comparison to previous seasons, we have all seen the amount of injuries doing the rounds. Every single team can say that they have had their fair share of injuries and weekend after weekend it seems to be getting worse.

Here is a summary of all the latest injury concerns:

Waratahs: Let’s start with the good news first, they seem to be lucky in getting both Phil Waugh and Wyclif Palu back from injury in time for the last two weekends. The bad news is that they have already lost Drew Mitchell and seem destined to lose Benn Robinson and Lachie Turner to injury, along with Ben Mowen and Paddy Ryan.

Reds: Following their surprising loss to the Brumbies this weekend, half of the Reds backline seem set to not be fit, with Anthony Faingaa and Ben Lucas in doubt with injury along with Digby Ioane definitely missing the game after being knocked out in the Brumbies clash. Players already on the injury list are Beau Robinson and wingers Peter Hynes and Rod Davies.

Crusaders: The Saders already have an injury list as long as my arm, but to add to their woes, news has filtered through that Richie McCaw has been ruled out for between two or three weeks. They have already lost Israel Dagg and Sean Maitland to injury.

We will add to this list as new injuries come to the fore.
