Sharks coach John Plumtree has announced his Captain and Vice-Captain for the 2012 Super Rugby series.

Bismarck Du Plessis has been appointed Vice Captain, with Keegan Daniel being appointed as the Captain.

Editor of Sharksrugby.co.za, Michael Marnewick, quotes John Plumtree as saying “I was really impressed with Keegan during the Absa Currie Cup last year, the way he grew as a leader in what was a difficult campaign. It was a campaign where we had to deal with a number of interruptions, through injury and Springboks coming back. So it was difficult to manage and I thought he did really well.”

In explaining his thinking Plumtree continues “He has the respect of all the players in the team which is obviously very important and also for the way he plays, and his friendliness and the person he is off the field make him a popular leader. I’m giving him this opportunity to keep the growth going and we’ll see how it goes.”

Sharksworld wishes both Keegan and Bismarck well for the season and may you never encounter Bryce Lawrence.
