Lions back set to miss SupeRugby start

Dylan des Fountain, who left the field on a stretcher during the Lions’ game against the Stormers on Friday night, looks set to miss the start of the Super Rugby campaign, after injuring his knee.

Des Fountain had scans done on his knee, but it is still too early to predict exactly how bad it is, and only time will tell how long exactly he will be on the sidelines.

Lions coach John Mitchell told SuperSport that he was disappointed when hearing about the injury as des Fountain has been showing some good form in pre-season.

Mitchell went on to say that the Lions will consider cancelling their match against the Kings in George, as they will be facing a severely weakened side, and will not want to risk further injury.
