Fantasy Update – Round 2

Round two of the Super Rugby campaign has come and gone, with more casualties and bad results following on from the first weekend. Head on over to www.justrugby.net to see where you finished up after the round.

We had a better scoring round in the Fantasy League, compared to last weekend, where our top scorer for the round, Super Bulls, managed a whopping 527-75 points, which includes his MVP points. He scored 48-50 points more than second placed Janoboys Lions, which ended the round on 429-25. Long time Sharksworld blogger Diablo’s team, suitably called Diablos, managed third spot with 426-50 points.

Overall, the top three from the second round leapfrogged the field to take the top three spots overall, with Super Bulls leading 66 points. Janoboys Lions and Diablos wrap up second and third respectively. Last week’s MVP and leader, Groot Leeu, holds down the fourth spot with Bertram Bulls rounding out the top 5.

The Bulls scored the most points individually, with Morne Steyn managing 27 points for the round, with two try hero Zane Kirchner finishing joint second with Tom Carter, another two try scorer. Daniel Halangahu managed 23-50 points with the unlikely sight of Werner Kruger scoring 23 points.

Overall, we have a three-way split at the top of the points scorers, with Beauden Barrett, Michael Harris and Morne Steyn all amassing 44 points in two rounds. Tyler Blyendaal is on 35 points in fourth spot and Zane Kirchner is the only non halfback in the top 5, on 33 points thus far.

The Last Man Standing competition saw the end of the road for quite a few people, most notably the 36 people who failed to make a selection. Overall, there were 175 teams entered, 72 are still alive with a lifeline, 49 are alive having lost a lifeline and 54 people are no longer with us, in other words, dead.

Over on Superbru, we have a new leader in Antoon007, who is also the round two yellow cap winner. With a couple of horrific results over the weekend, the leader board saw a fair few shuffles, with early leader Beet falling two spots into third place. A special mention must go to Kres, who managed to jump 159 places and now lies in sixth.

The top of the log looks like this:

Antoon007 – 17-75
Monster – 14-83
Beet – 14-75
Bertram – 14-00
Seabull – 13-50
Kres – 13-50
Chaz – 13-25

Until next week, good luck with the next round, remember to update those starting fifteens and get your LMS pick in, in time.
