John Mitchell has named his Lions team to face the Chiefs in the first matc of their overseas tour this weekend.

Rookie Grant Hattingh, who made a solid debut as a replacement lock against the Brumbies last week, makes his first start at blindside flank, while changes in the second row see Ruan Botha come in at 4 and Franco van der Merwe replace Hendrik Roodt at 5.

Derick Minnie replaces Cobus Grobbelaar at openside, while Ross Cronje starts at scrumhalf instead of Tian Meyer.

Caylib Oosthuizen has been bracketed with JC van Rensburg at loosehead prop, with the former needing to prove his fitness prior to the game. CJ van der Linde also returns to the match 22 after a long lay-off, covering both props from the bench.
