The All Blacks might have beaten the Irish comprehensively over the weekend, wrapping up a three – nil series whitewash, but the respective frnachises left to do battle this weekend will be ruing the amount of injuries suffered.

The Crusaders tackle the Hurricanes this weekend, and both teams have some serious injury concerns ahead of this match.

According to SuperXV.com, the Crusaders look likely to start the last three weeks of regular Super Rugby action without start pivot Dan Carter, who did not take part in the third test at all. He suffered a hamstring strain while with the All Blacks, and looks set to miss the derby match against the Canes. Tyler Blyendaal or Tom Taylor will take his place in the starting fifteen, with the other sitting on the bench.

Other Crusaders in doubt for this coming weekend’s clash are Israel Dagg and Kieran Read, Dagg hurt his ankle in the test over the weekend, while Read sat out the third test thanks to a head knock.

Over on the Canes’ side, both Victor Vito and Cory Jane look likely to be on the sidelines this weekend, a setback which could see the Hurricanes slip from sixth spot on the log. He may not be an All Black, but TJ Perenara will also miss the match against the Crusaders, as well as the rest of the season, after breaking his ankle.

News on Chiefs pivot Aaron Cruden is slow in being released, following his departure from the field midway through the game against Ireland, where he played brilliantly before hurting his knee.
