Confirmation has come through that Elton Jantjies’s move on loan to the Stormers for Super Rugby 2013 has been signed and is certain to happen. reports this morning that Western Province Rugby Union president Thelo Wakefield has confirmed the deal to them, while Allister Coetzee put the deal beyond doubt on Saturday evening already, at the Currie Cup Final post match press conference.

Even though we reported that Demetri Catrakilis has already signed with the Kings for next season, Coetzee stated that Catrakilis is yet to make up his mind and that he would prefer he stay in the Cape. The Kings are claiming that the flyhalf has already signed with them, but after their transfer news last week was so wrong, we can expect that Coetzee is talking the truth.

With Jantjies sure to be first choice for Super Rugby, and Peter Grant coming back from Japan after the start of the season, Catrakilis might just find himself on the bench for the first few games. Whether he will get more game time in Port Elizabeth is debateable, with Wesley Dunlop and George Whitehead already in line for the jersey.

More on this as Catrakilis’s decision is made public.
