de Jongh replaces Taute for Scots

Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer has made two changes to the starting line-up for the match against Scotland with Gurthrö Steenkamp starting in the front row and Juan de Jongh getting his chance in midfield. The two replace CJ van der Linde and Jaco Taute respectively, who are both on the bench, with Pat Cilliers missing out on the match 23 altogether.

Pat Lambie will get another chance to prove his worth in the flyhalf jersey, and with the All Blacks showing the way last weekend, he might get more chance to run with the ball, and even let the ball go past him to the centres and wings.

The bench remains largely unchanged, with de Jongh’s spot on the wood taken by Taute and the two unused replacement from last weekend, Schalk Brits and Morne Steyn, hoping to get some game time this week.

The Springbok team to face Scotland in Edinburgh is:

15. Zane Kirchner
14. JP Pietersen
13. Juan de Jongh
12. Jean de Villiers (captain)
11. Francois Hougaard
10. Pat Lambie
9. Ruan Pienaar
8. Duane Vermeulen
7. Willem Alberts
6. Francois Louw
5. Juandré Kruger
4. Eben Etzebeth
3. Jannie du Plessis

1. Gurthrö Steenkamp

16. Schalk Brits
17. Heinke van der Merwe
18. CJ van der Linde
19. Flip van der Merwe
20. Marcell Coetzee
21. Morné Steyn
22. Jaco Taute
23. Lwazi Mvovo
