Sharks coach John Plumtree has rung the changes for his team to face the Cheetahs this weekend with the biggest surprise being the inclusion of Jean Deysel in the starting line-up.

Riaan Viljoen starts in the place of Frans Steyn, who will have to feature off the bench, while Odwa Ndungane and Sean Robinson play wings while JP Pietersen is injured. The rest of the backline is unchanged.

Amongst the forwards, Deysel returns to the side of the scrum, replacing Ryan Kankowski, who is dropped from the match 22 altogether. The only other change is in the front row where Jannie du Plessis is given a break with Wiehahn Herbst getting a chance to start.

On the bench we see Tera Mtembu as loose trio cover while Lions recruit Andries Coetzee will make his Sharks debut should he come off the bench.

Sharks: 15. Riaan Viljoen, 14. Odwa Ndungane, 13. Paul Jordaan, 12. Meyer Bosman, 11. Sean Robinson, 10. Pat Lambie, 9. Cobus Reinach, 8. Keegan Daniel (Capt), 7. Jean Deysel, 6. Marcell Coetzee, 5. Franco van der Merwe, 4. Pieter-Steph du Toit, 3. Wiehahn Herbst, 2. Kyle Cooper, 1. Tendai Mtawarira. Substitutes: 16. Craig Burden, 17. Jannie du Plessis, 18. Anton Bresler, 19. Tera Mtembu, 20. Charl McLeod, 21. Frans Steyn, 22. Andries Coetzee
