Minimal changes for Sharks

The Sharks team announced to take on the Force sees little change from the team that went down to the Reds.

There is a single change in the backline, Odwa Ndungane starting ahead of Piet Lindeque on the wing. Odwa played his 100th match off the bench last week. Lindeque drops to the bench after an unsure performance against the Reds.

Amongst the forwards we see Jannie du Plessis starting ahead of Wiehahn Herbst. Herbst had a good outing against the Reds and his exclusion from the starting fifteen boggles the mind. The Sharks also start the match without Pieter-Steph du Toit, Anton Bresler starting ahead of the youngster. Why Franco van der Merwe is left in the starting fifteen again, boggles the mind.

Willem Alberts starts his first match of the season, replacing Jean Deysel, who drops to the bench. The bench has a five – two split, with Monde Hadebe covering Kyle Cooper and Derick Minnie and Lubabalo Mtembu bracketed in together. Tian Meyer and Lindeque covering the backline.

Sharks: 15. Riaan Viljoen, 14. Odwa Ndungane, 13. JP Pietersen, 12. Meyer Bosman, 11. Lwazi Mvovo, 10. Pat Lambie, 9. Charl McLeod, 8. Keegan Daniel (Capt), 7. Willem Alberts, 6. Marcell Coetzee, 5. Franco van der Merwe, 4. Anton Bresler, 3. Jannie du Plessis, 2. Kyle Cooper, 1. JC Janse van Rensburg. Substitutes: 16. Monde Hadebe, 17. Wiehahn Herbst, 18. Pieter-Steph du Toit, 19. Derick Minnie / Lubabalo Mtembu, 20. Jean Deysel, 21. Tian Meyer, 22. Piet Lindeque.
