The silver lining

I usually try to get something written by Tuesday. But after this weekends rugby I was just floored, shocked and angry.

The titles ranged from ‘The blame game’ to ‘one coach one bullet’. Once I took my meds and listened to some Bieber I got some perspective and calmed down. All I saw was negativity and despair.

But amongst all of this we are overlooking a shining light. A story as uplifting as any Disney feel good rags to riches.

Forget how they came into being. Spare a thought for the players, the discards of all our teams. Playing for each other and making it known they are good enough. And the youngsters in their first season of Super Rugby playing with heart and passion and making it known that there are no longer easy South African opponents.

So the silver lining for me is that there is a team out there who plays for each other and for their fans and has at the very least saved South Africa the embarrassment of a white wash weekend.
