Saracens have named their team to face the Sharks at Allianz Park on Saturday. The team boasts no fewer than 8 players from the African continent, 7 from South Africa and 1 from Namibia.

Richard Barrington and South African-born Schalk Brits and Matt Stevens will scrum down against an all-Springbok front row in Tendai Mtewarira, Bismarck du Plessis and Jannie du Plessis. Former England and current Saracens captain, Steve Borthwick will partner with another South African in Mouritz Botha. Former Western Province flanker, Justin Melck, and Namibian captain, Jacques Burger will form the loose trio with former Lions player Ernst Joubert.

Former Springbok and Western Province scrum half, Neil de Kock, will partner former England and leading Premiership points scorer of all time, Charlie Hodgson. Argentine centre, Marcelo Bosch, will be up against Sharks newcomer, Andre Esterhuizen, as he comes in as a late replacement for Francios Steyn, with the 94kg Fijian centre, Michael Tagicakibau, up against Sharks flyer, Paul Jordaan.

David Strettle who scored a hat-trick of tries on the weekend will partner with James Short and American International, Chris Wyles, to form the back three.

The bench sees yet another South African born in Petrus Du Plessis alongside Scotish International, Duncan Taylor, and Japanese International, Takashi Kikutani.
