Coach John Kirwan has selected a 27-man squad for the trip, including rookie flyhalf Simon Hickey, who tasted success in his maiden Super Rugby appearance by contributing 15 points to a 35-24 win over the Crusaders on Friday.

A number of big names will not be part of the tour, though, including the likes of Ma’a Nonu, Francis Saili and big Jerome Kaino.

The Blues have won one from two so far and are currently third on the New Zealand conference log.
