The Cell C Sharks have made an early announcement regarding coaching structures for the remainder of the year, with Brad Macleod-Henderson installed as Head Coach for the Currie Cup campaign, under the direction of Director of Rugby Jake White.

The former Sharks loose forward is understood to be a strong favourite of CEO John Smit and was at times last season described as head coach of the Currie Cup side, despite former Director Brendan Venter’s hands-on role during that successful campaign. MacLeod-Henderson will be assisted by the current Super Rugby assistant coaches, Paul Anthony (forwards) and Sean Everitt (backs).

White will apparently devote his attention to structures within the union and play an active role with the province’s under 19 and under 21 sides once Super Rugby has run its course for the year.

Junioe coaching appointments have also been confirmed; Deon Kayser and Albert van den Berg will take charge of the under 21 side, benefiting from continuity as both are currently coaching the Vodacom Cup side comprising a number of players still eligible for age-group rugby.

Jim Fleming, an off-season recruit from the EP Kings, will coach the Sharks under 19 side, assisted by UKZN Impi assistant coaches Butch James and Ryan Strudwick. Strudwick is himself a former ehad coach of the under 19 side.
