Sharks trio invited to BaaBaas #JB270

Three Sharks players have been invited to the Barbarians squad that will be facing the Wallabies at Twickenham on the 1st November. The team is to be coached by current Auckland Blues coach and All Black hero, Sir John James Patrick Kirwan, in what is sure to be an absolute humdinger of a game.

Possibly the most deserved player to be chosen is none other than the legendary Jacques Botes. How this guy does not have an international cap seems to run against the very fabric of the universe. Here’s hoping he has a fitting send off in front of a huge crowd at Twickers. He’ll be accompanied by team mates Matt Stevens and Thomas du Toit. The latter surely breaking some kind of record as a 19 year old prop while Matt Stevens has some unfinished business on that field.

Other South African names include the “Harder to shift than ketchup stains on a white shirt” Heinrich Brussow, Coenie Oosthuizen, CJ Van der Linde, and Michael Rhodes.

One thing that’s for sure, is that the Wallaby front row is going to have quite the battle in the scrums.

The first player to be announced was Aussie fan and media favourite, Nick Cummins, who’ll no doubt relish the opportunity to show McKenzie what he’s missing. It seems likely that a large contingent of the crowd will be dressed up as the honey badger for the game, although I feel its would be better to arrive in black and white sporting a red cap!
