Cobus Reinach will start a test for the first time as Bok coach Heyneke Mayer has made five changes to his starting line-up for Saturday’s clash against England.

In a move sure to impress readers of this site, Meyer has opted to start Sharks players ahead of many of the non-Sharks who delivered lukewarm performances in Dublin last week. Reinach replaces Francois Hougaard, who did his reputation much harm in the Irish captial, while Pat Lambie and JP Pietersen come in for Handre Pollard and Cornal Hendricks respectively.

Up front, Schalk Burger replaces Oupa Mohoje at blindside flank, with Adriaan Strauss, whose yellow card provde costly, bizarrely rewarded with a start ahead of Bismarck du Plessis.

South Africa: 15 Wille le Roux, 14 JP Pietersen, 13 Jan Serfontein, 12 Jean de Villiers (capt), 11 Bryan Habana, 10 Pat Lambie, 9 Cobus Reinach, 8 Duane Vermeulen, 7 Schalk Burger, 6 Marcell Coetzee, 5 Victor Matfield, 4 Eben Etzebeth, 3 Jannie du Plessis, 2 Adriaan Strauss, 1 Tendai Mtawarira
Subs: 16 Bismarck du Plessis, 17 Trevor Nyakane, 18 Coenie Oosthuizen, 19 Bakkies Botha, 20 Teboho Mohoje, 21 Francois Hougaard, 22 Handre Pollard, 23 Cornal Hendricks
