The Sharks Super Rugby squad reconvenes this morning to put in the hard yards ahead of the 2015 season.

The majority of the players have been enjoying a well-earned (albeit rather short) break after the Currie Cup campaign ended in Johannesburg. A few, of course, have seen some additional action with the Barbarians while the Springboks, of course, have had no break at all yet and will presumably only join up with the squad in January.

For the bulk of the Currie Cuo squad, though, today is D-day and our thoughts are with them as they enter what is typically the toughest phase of the year – grueling conditioning work for the most part as they put their “money in the bank” for the 2015 campaign.

Renaldo Bothma is the only confirmed new name we have at this stage, with a few others sure to be added to the mix as the pre-season progresses. We’re also told that Technical Director Brendan Venter will play a major role in the pre-season activities, standing in for Gary Gold who will not return from Japan for another few months.

Good luck, Sharks! Let’s make 2015 a season to remember.
