Pat cleared

A positive message on the Sharks Facebook page this morning confirms that Pat Lambie has been given the all-clear to return to playing duty after the neck injury sustained against the Crusaders back at Easter.

“After a positive meeting with his doctor this morning, Pat Lambie is looking fit and ready to play! Great to have him down on the pitch today!” say the Sharks, complete with a rather disturbing picture of the young flyhalf sporting his best attempt at a dashing goatee. Let’s just say that young Patrick is far better at rugby football than he is at growing facial hair (not really a big surprise).

Whether Lambie’s availability is likely to mean much to the Sharks remains to be seen. Having not played any rugby in several months, a a Currie Cup stint might do him good; the safer money, though, is on him being immediately called up for Springbok duty, meaning we’ll not see him in match action for the Sharks ahead of next year.

Whatever the case, it’s just great to see him back on his feet. Welcome back Paddy!
